I am huge on Gianfranco Ferrer' and John Paul Gautier, but this one was over the top...literally!...taken by John Galliano in the hair department. As POW-erful as his creations are, the hair is such the POW factor here, and gives the word POWerful an entirely new meaning as the artistic designer evolves the Pirate theme in his ready to wear (hair not included) line for Spring 2009.
Here we go again, another political emabarrassment! Now the fashion industry has mocked us with gentle comparison reference to the new line from Herme's by commenting "What is it with this fake "down home" country as value resurgance we are seeing these days and no we aren't talking about America's hokiest Vice Presidential candidate." In my opinion the Haute Couture world is in your face honest when weighed against the facade the down home image a past beauty pageant contestant now running for VP is grasping for. With fashion we know what it is; wild fun flamboyant creativity that makes a great party...and maybe a few harmless cat walk cat-fights.
And while we're here let's give it up for Tina Fey! Here's a shout out atchya, and all the rest of the fantastic crew there witchya at SNL!
Well, I say take those gloves off and put ON them heels and get real, or else defend your position and take them heels off and back on with them gloves, the way they do it down home...or rather 'up home' in this instance.... pitbull-hockey-mom style.
